  2. This is the file `00readme.vrs', which accompanies the `version'
  3. package distribution.  To use the package, run LaTeX on 
  4. `version.ins', this produces the file `version.sty' which contains 
  5. the macro definitions.  To obtain the userguide and documentation, 
  6. run LaTeX on `version.drv' after running LaTeX on `version.ins'.

  8. The 'version' package consists of two files:
  9.     version.ins   -  the installation driver
  10.     version.dtx   -  the macro code and instructions on how to use 
  11.                      the package in `docstrip'-able format.
  12. Anyone is free to re-distribute these files provided the restrictions
  13. mentioned in 'version.ins' are obeyed.  These are mainly that the 
  14. two files always must be distributed together and that noone is 
  15. allowed to distribute the files for profit.
